Usability Testing:
Reflection:
In the fall of 2014 I took a course in usability testing. Before this course I did not have any idea about this kind of tests or what usability means. This course exposed me to a whole new world that fill with critical thinking, tasks, and companying huge data. In this course I learned how to preform a usability test starting of preparing good questions to ask the client moving to the test plane, methods and metrics to build up the tasks and actually perform them on real users and end up with aggregating the data and write a professional report to the client.
I graduated from this course caring two important skills. Number one is the skill to build, and preform a usability test. Now I can do it using the old fashion way depending on my notes and memory or using the modern technology such as Camtasia and Silverback. I also learned so much about prototyping, and testing techniques. I also learned that usability tests could be performed on berry much everything around us not only on websites or graphic elements. In addition my usability skill add so much to my design skill. As a designer now I know where to stop to get an objective opinions which will enhance most of the work I will be building in the future.
The second important skill that where strengthen through this course is my ability to work in a team. Working with other people is always challenging although is very important because No matter how smart, talented, or passionate you are, your success in so many life aspects depends on your ability to work as part of a team. And because most of the usability test required a team effort to be efficient and effective. I was really glad that I offered the chance to do a major project as a team member that tough me a lot and prepare me to the future teamwork challenges.
